Practical "STARR" - Stress & Trauma Active Release & Rewiring exercises so you can build a proactive mental health routine.
Exercise modalities for individuals & groups to work on mental health & resiliency
Start with simple exercises that get you moving, build confidence and provide a solid foundation for those new to mental wellness strategies.
STARR Exercises available in STARR Cards or in the SameHere Scale app, where you can take a proactive approach to building a wellness routine.
STARR trainings support groups that are seeking to build a healthier, more resilient culture and community. Train the trainer options available.
Advanced training is delivered through a self-paced 16 module course taught by mind-body experts in the trauma-informed space.
STARR Alliance Experts are either the inventors, lead researchers, and/or top influencers of these mind/body healing modalities. Think of each expert as a “trainer” for each “Gym for the Brain” Exercise.
We partner with top app, technology, and product companies to expand access to STARR Exercises. A portion of each purchase supports our nonprofit programs.
If you want to dive-in more slowly, you can click on the "For Beginners" STARR-ting Exercises button. Once you are comfortable, you can begin reading each STARR Alliance Expert’s bio, above, to hear how exercises that each of them champion, positively affect our mental health. You can then check out their resource recommendations and begin building your own STARR Gym in the SameHere Scale app. Improving our mental health is not a “one-size-fits-all” process, however, by providing you with a list of exercises & therapies, as well as a comprehensive app and even certification course, you can research & choose the ones that work best for you. Many of these exercises can be done at home using the app or cards, but you can also look for practitioners in your area who offer them. There are many options to improve our physical health – with gyms on almost every corner. Now with STARR, we have options to build our own “Gyms For Our Brains” as well.
